Which is better for removing smells and allergens from the air? Ion generators? Ozone generators? hepa air filters? Or some machine that is a combination of the three? I want to get something like an ionic breeze but not sure what’s best….?
Any recommendations?

Whatever you do don’t buy those worthless Ionic breeze machines that only work in one room. Use somthing that will take care of the whole house. The Trane CleanEffects is the best thing on the market today. It is used with your central air system. If you don’t want to cool or heat your house you can still use it by turning just the fan/blower on. Also consider a UV light. It goes right into your duct system and kills mold, and bacteria, kills stuff even like the strep throught virus! Hope this helps.
