Is the ionic breeze good at eliminating odors?
I read on consumer reports that the ionic breeze is worthless when it comes to purifying the air. But I don’t care if the air is clean; I just don’t want it to stink. I have two sugar gliders, and they have scent glands that kind of stink. I’m curious if anyone with an ionic breeze, or something comparable, is happy with its ability to eliminate odors in the home. Also if anyone can recommends something better. Best answer wins10 points

Actually, baking soda works better. Just put baking soda on your carpets, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and vacuum it up. You can do the same to upholstery. It works great.
Use scotch guard on all your carpets and furniture. That will not only help keep stains out but it will help from the odor being absorbed into your carpet and your furniture. Then go to your local pet store (petsmart if you have one at your location) they sell stuff for pet odors, Oxi-clean not only do I find helps with the stains but i noticed when I use it for when my dog goes potty sometimes it helps with the smell too. Second of all yes you can use baking soda it will help with smell a little bit, but baking soda won’t take out stains, at least i never found it did. Put a bowl of vinegar in each room and let sit until the vinegar evaporates. That also helps alot to absorb some of the smell. Then last but not least, never forget about the Oust air freshner. Oust kills odor causing bacteria. After the first time I used Oust I quit buying regular air freshner. I love the floral scented oust. It almost smells like perfume. But my favorite scent by oust is the out door sent. It has this crisp clean smell..
Ionic air purifiers do just that. They purify the air. They put out ions that attract the opposit charge and when the molicule attracts enough they fall to the floor (and furniture). But yes, they do clean the air.
They work on the principle of nature. If you have ever noticed after a rain and lightening storm, the air smells very fresh. The ionic purifers act like lightening.
To get rid of the particles that fall you can vacuum them up. Of course you are again stirring them up again and they become air born once more. So it is a circle. But they do work.
I have read reports that claim that the ionic breeze can actually harm you. Apparently when you clean it, you are breathing in the dirt in a condensed form. Most other air purifiers I have owned were loud, this one is quiet. I am not too sure about what is the best product for your needs though. I did a yahoo search and the first link is the one I thought fit what you were looking for best. If it doesn’t help, the second link shows the search results I picked it from. It’s a cleaning system so I don’t know if you wanted to work for the clean smell or not. You have different options of how to use it. Good luck!
