What they actually do is put ions into the air and then the ions cling to the dust particles, making the dust heavy, thus making the dust fall from the air. So to answer your question: yes, they really do a wonderful job cleaning the air if you have allergies. But on the downside, you have to dust a lot more often to keep the dust away that has fallen. My whole family has allergies and we have three or four actual units in the house and they’re great. But I dust every day.
Yes, we have 2 and you should see the junk that we get off of it when we clean them!
No. They are high maintenance and actually create ozone which some say is bad for people. I had several and am just as happy without them.
Yes, these are great. Personally, I have found that I had to clean and dust everything very well. A total cleaning and a no pet zone in the bedrooms. One ionic breeze is good for a regular sized room. If the place is dusty and dirty, the machine cannot vacuum and dust for you. The air smells like the negative ion smell after a rain. E-bay has new ones for about 1/3 the regular retail price and it comes with all the warranty information. Have a great breathe free zone.
