I have two cats, and I live in the city, so between the dander and the pollution the air around here less that perfect. I noticed a huge difference when the Sharper Image ones were working, but after three defective products I’m weary of giving them another try.
I’ve had three Sharper Image Ionic Breeze purifiers, but all three have broken within a month of use (they started producing so much static that I could hear them from outside).
I also have a UVC Air Purifier and a Himalayan Salt Lamp, but I’m honestly not sure that either one does anything at all.
Any suggestions?

Is it unhealthy to live in a major city with a lot of smog in it? It’s not like poison or anything. It’s just CO2, Ozone, and particulate matter right? And it’s not like anyone is breathing it.
But what are those smog alerts on TV and in the newspaper for? How does staying inside help when it’s in the air?
Does an Ionic Breeze work? I heard the Ionic Breeze can convert smog and ozone into oxygen, how? Is that true? How does it work?
How is any of this stuff unhealthy? And does it help to purchase a HEPA air filter?

I have wood floors and I have to constantly dust and mop. I’m looking for a air purifier that will help keep the dust bunnies down and help them from flying around in the air as I’m cleaning. Thank you! – Oh and I heard the Ionic Breeze sucks (but don’t know if that’s true)

Oh one more thing we do change the filter on our ac unit often. So I don’t know with the wood floors it just collects quickly. Thank goodness I will have no wood floors in my new house we’re building – but for now need help! Ty
